Christmas Tree Festival 2023

Our sparkling Christmas Tree Festival will be open to visit from Thursday 7 December 2023 until Sunday 14 January 2024 (excluding Christmas Eve* and Christmas Day), during normal visiting hours - 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday (last entry 4.30pm) and 12.30-3pm on Sundays (last entry 2.30pm).  

The sparkling Christmas trees are always innovatively and individually designed and decorated by local schools, charities and organisations and are a wonderful sight to be enjoyed by all the family. And it promises to be especially spectacular this year with even more trees than ever! 

Booking is not required this year, so just turn up and enjoy the avenue of glittering Christmas Trees displayed in our atmospheric medieval Cloister! However, large groups or schools should still book so access can be managed (contact visits@ or schools@). 

* Due to a high volume of services and Christmas Eve falling on a Sunday (our shorter visiting day) this year, we will be open for services only on 24 December & 25 December. There will be opportunities for those attending our Christmas Eve Crib Services at 1pm and 3pm to see the trees after each service, on the way to the exit through the cloisters. 

We welcome well behaved dogs on a short lead to our Christmas Tree Festival.
