Worcester Cathedral enjoys a busy and thriving musical life. Inspired by a rich heritage of musicianship, the Cathedral is home to daily choral worship, regular lunchtime recitals, and a variety of concerts.

The Cathedral hosts the Three Choirs Festival on a triannual basis and enjoys a close working relationship with the Worcester Festival Choral Society, who perform major choral works in the Cathedral.
Worcester Cathedral’s music department is led by the Director of Music, Samuel Hudson, who is responsible for the training and direction of the boy and girl choristers, and lay clerks. The Assistant Director of Music, Nicholas Freestone, accompanies the Cathedral Choir and is responsible for the training and direction of the Voluntary Choir and Youth Choir. An Organ Scholar is appointed annually, who assists with the accompaniment and direction of the choirs and gains experience through their role in the department.
